Set up Orbi for someone else
Hi, I have an Orbi 750 and love it. I recommended it to my son and plan to set it up for him in his home in the coming days. Question: How can I set up the Orbi for another at their location...

yes
you can also use its ip address.
When I'm setting it up for others, I actually don't even connect it to the internet. Then have the person setting it up at their location run that part of setup.
Thanks. I'd love to do some of the setup ahead of time, but I've been trying today to log into the new router via browser with no luck.
I guess I'll just do it on location and hope it works 🙂

Can you connect a laptop directly to the new router with an Ethernet cable?
The router does not have to be connected to the internet.
Open a web browser to 192.168.1.1
If it asks for a login, the default credentials are "admin" and "password".

Yes I can connect it directly with a cable - I am concerned about conflicting with my own Orbi router in using ip address.
Will it not conflict if I directly connect?
