The orbit app

I’ve been on and off trying to log into my orbit app for the last two years. Always says admin but I can’t put username in instead. I’m sure this may have been asked already. But does anyone no how to resolve this? Or is this a better issue that just isn’t being taken care of? Thanks in advance for any input.

  • The Orbi 'app' can be annoying because there are two sets of credentials:

    • The Netgear login consisting of email address and password, and
    • The Orbi  router web credentials, consisting of "admin" and the password.

On the Android version of the app, 90% of the time the app simply "opens".  However, sometimes when the app has been updated, it wants the user to provide credentials and helpfully suggests credentials that are years old and no longer pertinent.

It might be worth deleting and reinstalling the Orbi app (after clearing cache and storage).

Another frustration is that the app will often prefer Anywhere Access over Local Access (which is just the opposite of what I would expect. Why go through the cloud if I'm already connected directly to the Orbi, right?)  But Anywhere Access must be enabled on each device that the Orbi app is installed on.  e.g. one phone might have Anywhere Access enabled and another phone might not.  Anywhere Access can be enabled only when the device is locally connected.  (I have it on four different devices - or is it five?)
