About ready to change equipment, should I try 3rd party firmware?

I have an Orbi RB850 and two RBS850 satellite units. I paid almost 1K for the 3 units a few years ago and always seem to have issues with them going offline or losing certain connections and having to reboot units. I am an IT person with 35 years in the industry so I don’t think it’s user error on my part, just bugs in the equipment ongoing and I’m tired of reboots and firmware upgrades that often create more issues than they solve.

 

Would using 3rd party firmware like Merlin..etc. resolve some of my ongoing connection issues, I hate to eat the cost for the equipment but when things like my xBox series X require satellite router reboots every week just to connect again, something is wrong with my Orbi setup, same with my Sony TV (both hardwired to the router). https://www.reddit.com/r/orbi/comments/12q8aeb/about_ready_to_change_equipment_should_i_try_3rd/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
