AX6000 pairing devices

I am planning to replace an existing router with the AX6000 and (2) RBX 853 Satellites. My WIFI devices include thermostats and sprinkler controls. For linking/pairing to the network, can I change the network name of the AX6000 to the current network name of the old router and use its password?

      That technique works for MOST devices... but there are probably some out there that you will have to re-pair.  Example, some of my Alexa's had to be manually reset when I changed to the AX6000
