Backup / Restore
I've currently got the Orbi 750 3-pack, but I'm considering an upgrade to the 970 alongside a broadband speed upgrade. Can I restore the backup file from my 750s to the 970 to speed up the setup process?
No. Different systems means different backups.

Things always tend to work better when you set up the configuration from scratch vs loading a previous cfg file. In this case, I am not sure it would even allow uploading the file, but even if it does, I would not recommend uploading a configuration file from a different system as it could cause issues and not translate well into your new system. It most likely will cause issues.
Something that the system won't let users do. Cross backup configs are not allowed and will give an error I believe when attempted. In same model, should work though.
Another thing you can do as well, set up the incoming system off line, get it set up and RBS connected, then setup the same SSID name and Password for the wifi. Once the new system is set up, all you need to do is power OFF all RBS including out going RBS. Place the incoming RBR near the other outgoing RBR. Reboot or power cycle the ISP modem or ONT. Disconnect the ISP modem or ONT from the out going RBR and connect to Incoming RBR. Disconnect any other ethernet cables from out going RBR and connect them to the new RBR. Power ON the new RBR. Once it's ready, just power OFF the old outgoing RBR. Most if not all of your wifi devices will auto migrate and connect to the new RBR. Power On the new RBS. I do this all the time when putting a different system online. Works well.

One thing you can do, is print your setup pages on your old system to a PDF, then refer to your specific settings that you have when you are setting up the new one.
Or if you have specific setup information on certain pages, such as a number of port forwarding or something like that, print those to a pdf and refer to that when you are setting up the new system to make it easier to remember your specifics.
