Can I remove my ISP provided router and just connect the Orbi router to the RJ45 jack?
I am looking to replace a oldish Google/Nest mesh router with the Orbi. The existing routed worked great for a while but is starting to give errors when connecting devices to the wifi so i am looking to replace it.
The current config is that the existing Google wi-fi mesh router is conencted directly the RJ45 jack and the old ISp provided router has been removed. The router handles DHCP address assigned and everything just works and it get full speeds out of the ISP link.
Can i do the same with the Orbi or do I need to reconnect the router from the ISP for the Orbi to work. The Orbi info seems to indicate that I need to keep the router in place. Is this true? Why?
