Can't sync previously working rbs750 to rbr750
Hi- this may be a firmware craziness thing. I have 3 satellites. Everything was working well until I broke something that didn't need to be fixed. One of the satellites was on 4.6.x firmware so I manu...

The best advise we can give people is to start a new config, power on one RBS and wait for some SOLID light or most often blue or magenta. And then add the RBS WIRELESSLY via the WebUI. Power off the RBS. Then rinse and repeat with any additional RBS(s). Pair RBS one at a time even if you have more than one. For ethernet connected RBS, after things come up wirelessly, you can move to wired backhaul but don't start with wired backhaul for those RBS that are ethernet connected. Wirelessly connect and sync RBS first before ethernet connecting RBS. Definitely try a reboot of the RBR.

Updated the firmware back to the 7.6.x newest on the RBS. When I have the RBS plugged into the RBR, it recognizes it as a satellite. When I unplug the ethernet it says it's "disconnected." So at least we're part-way there. I'll try and resync it later when I have time. But this is "better" behavior than yesterday.
I wonder if power cycling the RBR made a difference. I was able to do that early this morning when no one was using the internet.

very helpful. I tihnk I wasn't waiting long enough when I hit sync. and I was using the buttons, not the software, so i'll do that.
the 2 satellites that are synced and working. Should I leave them plugged in when I sync this third one? Or should I temporarily unplug those two?
Also does it matter how close together I have the RBR and the RBS I want to re-sync? Right now they're a foot apart. Is that too close?
When I go into the RBS directly 192.168.1.19 which it is wired connected to my RBR a) it automatically changed the password back from generic "password" to the one I use, which is a good sign, and b) it shows everything active and working, including updated firmware, 5g and 2.4g are on, etc. etc.
I'll obviously disconnect the ethernet wire before I try and sync them....

Id' turn OFF the RBS then sync the 3rd one.
For near or same room RBS syncing with the RBR, 10-15 feet should be a good distance.
Ya, i'd give a full 5 minutes for syncing and settling in time.
- rickinedOct 30, 2023TutorOh amazing! It finally worked. I think honestly I needed to powercycle the RBR.
But whatever happened it worked!
Thanks all! - FURRYe38Oct 30, 2023Guru - Experienced User
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
