CBR 750 modem / router connection issues with ISP

It is compatible with CC/XF, just not with there 1.2Gb speed tier services. You'll need to downgrade to 800Mpbs.
The ISP changed there speed tiers last year which 1Gb was there max speed plan, which the CBR750 supports. When they split this into 800 and 1.2Gb plans and bumped everyone up to the 1.2Gb plan, this caused problems for the CBR750 which both ISP and NG is aware off.
Technically the modem side can handle the 1.2Gb speed, it's the router and LAN ports on the CBR that won't ever see anything past 1000Mpbs since the LAN ports on the back of the CBR are 1G max only. Which is why 1Gb was working until the ISP made the change.
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
We've gone round and round with other users about this. Only thing that seems to make the CBR work is the 800Mpbs speed tier since the ISP doesn't put out the 1Gb any more

I just checked on downgrading my service to the 800mbps which seems like going backwards for such a touted high end product as Orbi "The Rolls Royce" of wifi.
Apparently, Xfinity wants to charge more for the 800mbps service ($20.00 more per month) than they do for the 1.2GB service. So it will cost even more monthly. Fells like NetGear needs to make this right somehow. A $600 product that claims to be GB compatible 3.1 docsis future proof suddenly becomes a giant paper weight so soon after purchase.
I've been a Netgear fan for years, but this is leaving a pretty bad taste for such an expensive product.
Not sure downgrading service is the right move here.
Purchasing a router / modem combo in this case really backfired. First time and last time for that especially since the combo in this case cannot be used as a router with another modem.
