Configuring email sending using TLS

Is there a way to configure an RBR850 to send email using TLS and port 587?

My ISP (Xfinity aka Comcast) won't accept unencrypted email and blocks port 25.

-- Thanks, Verne

This is not done on the Orbi. It depends what ports your mail server supports and then you configure your email program.

I configured my Orbi to send email via my personal domain's SMTP mail server and port 465.  I believe my mail server is TLS and uses SSL.

These Orbi mail settings work for me.  Go to the orbilogin.com web admin site via Advanced... Security... Email:

    • Turm e-mail notification on = CHECKED
    • Primary e-mail address = <my address>@DOMAIN.com
    • Outgoing mail server = mail.DOMAIN.com
    • Outgoing mail server port number = 465
    • My mail server requires authentication = CHECKED
    • Username = <my mail server username>@DOMAIN.com
    • Password = <my mail server password>

To check if your mail server settings are correct, go to Advanced... Administration... Logs and look for an error message regarding the mail server connection.
