Connecting an ORBI RBR850 to a security NCR
Hi I will start by saying I am not that IT literate. I have purchased and installed an ORBI RBR850 (connecting to Australian NBN Arras modem. One of the ports goes to our security camera NCR and fro...

Thank you CrimpOn. I typed in a hurry yesterday out of frustration. The set up I have is Orbi Router direct cable to a UNV NCR model NVR301-08X-P8. I can plug a monitor and keyboard directly into the NVR. The program used by the NVR is Uniview. Within the Uniview program is is showing that the Network has no traffic and is disconnected. In the Orbirouter Login / Show Statistics it is showing "Link Down". I had a load of trouble connecting the Orbi to my ISP provider - TPG and had to change the VLAN Tag Group / VLAN Id from 10 to 2 for that to work (after many restarts and factory resets; there are a load of posts in the TPG community board about this issue). So I am not sure whether I need to reset that one port back to 10, or if there are other settings which need to be changed specific to interact with an NVR. I then have an account with EZStation which allows me to access the NVR information remotely through computer or EZView which allows me to sees the cameras on the phone. EZStation / EZView are programs which loaded through a QR code in the NVR Uniview setup.

FYI - I just tried resetting Port 1 (which is the NVR port) back to a VLAN Id of 10 and left the remainder at 2 and it still won't connect.

VLAN tagging is described on page 88 of the RBR850 User Manual:
https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBK852/RBK852_UM_EN.pdf
(My provider, Spectrum, does not require VLAN tagging, so I have no personal experience with it.)
From what I read, the issue appears to be regarding how IPTV is provided to subscribers. All of the discussion seems to be in regard to IPTV.
What happens when the Ethernet port connecting the NVR has no VLAN tag at all?
(I certainly see no reason to change the VLAN tag from 2 to any other specific value, such as 10.)
Does the ISP have decent technical support?
