Connecting CCTV Cameras to Orbi 860 on a separate VLAN or similar
Hi everyone, Wondering if any one could possibly help. I've done a little searching but can't seem to find anything positive regarding what I would like to achieve. I'll be as brief as I ca...

Thanks everyone for your input and associated links.
With what very little time I've had since posting to look further into this it does seem my hope of a simple solution is not on the horizon.
At base level I really could just do with segmenting my home network, I was of the mindset that this would be easy to achieve but it is a bit of a minefield with lots of options out there which to me at least involves too much in terms of changing our setup. I guess I'm craving a simple but effective solution to what I would like to achieve.
I was actually going to do away with not having an NVR. All cams are to record on movement to local SD storage and we wished to both setup, and view live via said manufacturers app. I just wanted these cams to be detached from the rest of our devices on the network for peace of mind more than anything. It's a balancing act, a compromise.
My ISP modem for which the Orbi connects to doesn't offer any options either from briefly looking into this.
Having breakfast this morning and thought to myself, how about connecting the cams to the main network then switching over all our other devices to the guest network. That way the ethernet will be separated from all our wireless devices. Not got time before leaving for work this morning to look into this to see what pitfalls there would be to this idea. I'll get time later tonight hopefully.
Thanks again for the input so far from everyone. I shall persevere..
Cheers

Have been thinking over lunch break, we are actually in a position to return the Orbi 860, originally purchased as we have this Mesh system elsewhere and have always been happy with it.
Maybe should of though about our predicament before purchasing the 860 again but it's still unopened and returnable. After a quick look online perhaps something like the SXK80 would be more suitable for our current situation given it's ability to to segment both wired and wireless connections.
Any opinions and/or alternative suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks again.
