Connecting Synology Nas Server to Orbi RBK50 router

I'm having trouble connecting a synology DS920+ to my Orbi router. Its actually a RBK50 but i did not see that model in the list. i tried it first on a netgear switch & then i hooked it up directly to the router, but its still not working. Is there a firewall setting i need to turn off? Everything is hooked up and turned on but the synology cant see the network. Synology has a tool called synology assistant that you use to find the server, but it does not see it on the network.

  • i tried to connect to the router through my windows pc but it doent like the answers to the security questions. I'm sure i entered it in the same but i guess not. i hope i dont have to reset everything. This is a lot more time consuming than i was hoping for.

  • Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi AC products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

I would first contact the mfr of the NAS for there help and support information regarding there product. They will have the best informatoin on how to solve problems with there product.

Please use this link to the main forum product list to review and choose where to make your posts.
