Connection Problem between hardwired Router and Satellite (850)

Hi,

I have two orbi 850 series devices, one Router and other one Satellite.

Connection between is established via ethernet.

We have this issue that connection is lost between them. when you are connected to Satellite once in a while, you are losing pings to router and also of course to internet as well.

When you are connected to Router, you lose pings to Satellite but internet connection is alright.

I rebooted Satellite and problem still occured.

Then i rebooted Router and it helped significantly, but after couple of hours problem came back.

I am new to Orbi system, so if anyone has suggestion on this problem, please respond.

Thanks.

  • do they work fine with a wireless backhaul?

Are they direct connected to each other? Through a switch? Through wall plates?

Its always worth checking that backhaul connection as a bad cable, end, wall plate can cause issues.

  • Does the RBS connect correctly if you bring the RBS to the same room as the RBR and ethernet connect it directly behind the RBR?

What CAT# LAN cable is being used? CAT6 is recommended...
