coverage & speed

Question

So I recently installed the Cbk750 whole home system hoping to better coverage &amp; speed thru out the house and detached garage. (router to satellite in Garage 20-30ft). Although that hasn't been the case unless sitting directly in front of the Router I get my 1gig, but if you go to the master bedroom or office it drops to 200 or so. The garage drops worst the house is 2500sqft. I'm wonder do I need to get more satellites being that this system is designed to handle 5000. you wouldn't think so.

the router is centrally located in the living room and the satellite is not wired which is in the garage is not wired. But the router alone should be able to cover the 2500sqft 1 story correct without satellites if I run a cable for satellite any particular ether cable or are they all the same

It is helpful to know:

What specific device is being used to measure speed?
How is the house constructed? (interior and exterior walls)
Are there places in the house that are as far from the router as the bedroom and office bit measure higher speed?
Is there metal in the direct path from router to satellite?&nbsp; (such as a roll-up garage door?)

I'm going to hard wire the satellite in the garage to see if that helps. Thk u for your help
