Desktop Connection Problems (Revisited) - RBK753S
I've had the Orbi 753S 3-Pack running for a few weeks and am very satisfied with the performance. My only problem, which I posted before, is that my desktop either doesn't connect, connects but no in...

Sorry to hear your Windows Broadcom AC wireless connectivity is flaky with your Orbi AX system. The other thing you can try is modify some of the adapter's properties. There are examples here (scroll down to the "Manufacture is listed as Broadcom" section): https://support.cyberpowerpc.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014067574-Configure-the-Wireless-Adapter-Settings-for-Optimal-Performance
In particular:
- If your PC is close to the Orbi then there might be an option to only connect to 5Ghz. If your PC is further away, so it's better to rely on the greater range of 2.4Ghz, then the reverse may work better for you.
- Try different wifi channels, in case interference is making a difference.
- Try disabling AX Mode per the earlier suggestion. It would be unfortunate to have to disable AX for your fancy new AX router, but worth a try to see if it helps.
- If you still have your/an older wireless router, you can probably repurpose it as a wireless bridge. Connect your PC via ethernet to the old router and let it connect wireless to your Orbi wireless network. Not ideal but another workaround to consider.

Thank you for all this. My PC is located directly one floor above the router; problaly less than 10ft seperate them. I made some changes as suggested but this morning had a problem connecting so ordered a new wifi card. I looked up my current card and TP-Link has it listed as end of life with no recent updates. Hope the new one is compatible with my older setup.....will see soon enough. Thanks again.

Let us know how the newer adapter works.
Disabling of the AX mode is just a quick test to see if it changed anything.- rr20552Feb 03, 2021ApprenticeI had exactly this same issue and for me it was resolved by manually setting the Wi-Fi protocol under device manager to the highest one available (mine was 802.12bgn) and I also lowered the keep alive threshold from 100 to 25.
Note that on the router I have increased the CTX to maximum and set the preamble to short which for me resolved the vast majority of issues with other devices such as Ring Doorbells etc.
Hope this helps.- FURRYe38Feb 03, 2021Guru - Experienced User
CTS to 2347?
