Download slower than upload Orbi RBKE963
I am working with a friend who is having slower download than upload when using the Orbi, but not when connected to his Verizon CR1000A. Please help!!
"Slower" as in:
- A few megabits difference, or
- 100's of megabits difference?
Is the Orbi in router or Access Point (AP) mode?
It is 1000ish down/200ish up. I had my friend confirm and he has 1Gb both up and down.
It is setup as a router.
If it really is 1000 down and 200 up, I would not be concerned (who has that much to upload?)
Doesn't AT&T have a speed test on their phone 'app' that reports up/down speed to their unit?

Is the CR1000A in bridge mode? If not, while using the Orbi as a router then you have 2 routers operating and Double NAT. Suggest trying the Orbi in AP mode or else put the CR1000A in bridge mode.

Is it normal for an Orbi connected to a Verizon modem to get 850 down/150 up on a 1Gb connection?
Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.

IF your getting hear 900Mpbs and near 200Mpbs thru the Orbi system, then it would be working as expected.
