Ethernet is low voltage cable, so building codes allow for it to be passed through walls.  If it is convenient to do so, then connecting a new Ethernet cable to the existing cable will allow the existing satellite to be relocated to the outbuilding.  Having a satellite only 10 ft from the router does not expand the WiFi coverage area much.

If it would be difficult or costly to get a cable from the router to the where the satellite is now, there are other potential solutions to improve WiFi signal at the outbuilding.  Amazon sells 960 satellites for $600.  Place one in the outbuild. Connect it to the existing satellite with the Ethernet cable. "Problem solved."

Expanding the Orbi mesh is the only way to preserve seamless roaming between the main building and outbuilding.
