Incremental Upgrade from AC3000 system to AX6000 system

I currently have an ABK53 system (router + satellite) plus an additional RBS50 satellite for my 3,000 sq. ft 2 story house. I am interested in upgrading my system over the next year and moving to an AX6000 series system, perhaps starting with  1 router and satellite (RBK852) and using my existing 2 RBS50s with it. Then I would change them out over time. So my question is will this work? Will the RBS50s work with the RBK852 system? If so, is there any downside to this more gentle on my wallet migration concept?

I have read that the original Orbi satellites will only connect to an "AX" router over ethernet, as the WiFi backhaul is entirely different.

For more definitive answers, the question should be posted in the community forum for the AX product line:

  • As mentioned, RBS AC units will only work via ethernet with Orbi AX systems. WIreless is not supported between them.
