iPhones drop connection to RB850
Hi, I've read this thread: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-WiFi-6-AX-and-WiFi-6E-AXE/iPhone-loses-WiFi-connection-with-RBR850/m-p/1961247 and having similar, but perhaps different issues - ...

Hi FURRYe38
running firmware: v4.6.3.16 on router and satellites.
as just posted in response to donawalt - 1 x router and 3 x satellites in main house and 1 x satellite in a garden office. router is on 2nd floor of house, and distance to nearest satellite on 1st floor is >30 feet. then 2 satellites on ground floor, ~100 feet apart, and each of them are probably 50 feet from satellite on 1st floor. it's an old house with super thick walls. As an fyi, measuring wifi strength using wifisweetspots I get ~400mbs in room where satellite is placed, and in room next door that drops to ~10mbps, only a few feet away. Hence the reason all my satellites are wired. But I'll play around with satellite placement and may try remove one to see if that improves reliability.
Given the above setup, would you still recommend dropping CTS to 64?
And how do I go about reducing power to the RBR by 50%?

Try changing CTS to 64 for now. What I'm using and my iPhone doesn't disconnect any.
I do disable WIFI Private IP address while at home. This Apple feature is NOT needed while at home.
- rl72Jun 26, 2022GuideHi.
I removed one of the satellites and now down to 2 satellites in the main house and a 3rd satellite in another building quite far away.
I’ve also dropped CTS to 64. It was working OK for a few days and then issues started again. Oddly, as I was typing this (on my phone), standing 2 feet from a satellite, I’ve lost connection twice in the time it’s taken me to type this. I’m lost at what to do next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.- FURRYe38Jun 26, 2022Guru - Experienced User
Did you distable WiFI Private IP address on the phones?
I would recommend updating to v.5 FW on the RBS first. Update them ALL. The the RBR lastly.
Link to v.5 is in this forum.
After updating, Power OFF then back ON the RBR and RBS.
I would try with just the RBR and maybe the far RBS and leave all other RBS OFF.
Need to determine if the phones still drop connection with just the RBR being online.
I had my 8 series online for days and don't see any problems. WiFI private IP address disabled on my 12 Pro Max.
Manual channel 1, and 40, CTS at 64 and 50% power.

Thanks FURRYe38 . To confirm, the FW version you're referring to is this one: Firmware Version 4.6.8.5 ?? That's the latest I can find on https://www.netgear.com/support/download/?model=RBS850. If not, could you please post link to the FW version you're referring to here? Many thanks.
