Never in a day would I have thought that a sewing machine would get technical and get WiFi abilities. My grandmother would be amazed if she was still around. She had a peddle machine back in the day. đ

Hi
Thank you. I have no problem with connecting the machine and iPad to our network the problem is that, even though both devices are connected to the same wifi when I go to transfer the design to my machine I get a communication error saying connection failed. My machine does not show up on the list of connected devices on Orbi. If I log out of Orbi I can do to the transfer. To me it appears that Orbi is not recognising my sewing machine even though it is connected to our network. It is no biggie to log out when I need to do a transfer but it would be easier if I didnât have to do that. Thanks again for your help.

Not right at all! What resources are available to troubleshoot the connection?
(computer/laptop/tablet connected to the network that can run a network application?)
For example, my first step would be to use the Internet Control Messaging Protocol (ICMP - often called 'ping'), either by opening a command window and typing in the command ping 192.168.1.x, putting in the IP address reported by the sewing machine. There are are apps on my phones and tablets that offer the same function.
Or, I would use a "network scanning application" to list out all of the devices connected to the LAN IP subnet. Depending on the model of Orbi, the Attached Devices display may show devices "out of sequence".
When the app shows connection failed, did the sewing machine appear as an option in the embroidery app? (the machine not appearing at all would certainly indicate that it is not on the network. Showing as available and then connecting might be something else.)
We so seldom have a really fun topic on the forum. Please do not give up yet.

Hi, I really appreciate your comments and suggestions. I will try and ping the machine when I get home.
When I get connection failed the machine does not show on the app. Once again if I log out of Orbi it does appear. Anyway I will try what you and suggested and report back.

Hi. I pinged the machine and then ran a scan and the machine is now showing up. I donât know what I did but I can now transfer designs using my ipad. I still have an issue with my macbook but I am not worried about that as I mostly use my ipad. Thank you so much for all your help.
