Is this the correct procedure to factory reset the RBR 850/RBS 850

I’ve reset before but I get easily confused when doing it and setting up again. If I did this would someone here be willing to help me set it up again? Say for instance, someone who has had no issues with theirs??

  • I'm sure there's plenty of people that would help on here with that.

I've done it both with a hard reset of pushing and holding the reset button on the device and I've done it through the settings menu. Both have worked for me in the past.

That’s wonderful to hear. My problems are just about to drive me over the edge! I’m literally having to take anxiety medication now and I’m losing sleep. I’m sure you’ve read on here by my many posts what my issues are with my connection.

You all are going to find this insanely **bleep** of me or maybe not but… I did a crazy google search where I put in all the issues I’m having with my RBR 850 and RBS 850. I’m sure you all remember. I’ll link his original post here at the bottom but the problems he had sound almost identical to mine… so much so that it’s eerie!!! Anyway he was saying that his Orbi had been working wonderfully until I guess one night his did an auto firmware update. He said immediately after he had realized the firmware had upgraded automatically that he began to see streaming issues. He didn’t say fuzzy video from streaming apps… I don’t think but he did mention tons of buffering and said it was happening on all apps he streamed videos from. That is EXACTLY what I’m experiencing! He said he gets buffering which I’ll admit my videos don’t stop and wouldn’t load until a restart of the apps exactly but he did say that it kept throwing him offline so I just assumed that his were probably causing him to force close the apps like I have to so sometimes. With me, rarely does the feed stop and load and totally crash the stream but I can say it HAS indeed happened. Mostly my issue is just the fuzzy video. Looks low res like it’s having trouble keeping up. I’m not saying it’s the router but I’d be willing to place good money on it. He said he downgraded his firmware it had the night before and then all of a sudden the problems went away. He said they came back but he checked and sure enough he said his satellite had the new update while his router had the old one. He said his satellite would not downgrade for some reason but he did mention that he finally got it to somehow. It’s all in the post. This sounds like something inbred to do. I need to perhaps downgrade to the firmware I had just before my issues started. Because at first and for several months I had no issues. I believe I had even 2-3 firmware updates untl my issues did begin. I just wish I knew what the firmware was that I had before the issues began. Is there anyway to tell?? I do have an Amazon order listing as to when I received the units and I also know that the day I got them, I did a firmware update because the manual told me to. My mom even helped me. I remember that plain as day. My issues began when instead of letting the units auto update, I was bored one night while watching something online and in the app I was poking around and saw that there was an update. Now normally I would have let it do it automatically but for some reason I decided to do it that night around 9 PM when I saw the notification. After I did the update which I initiated from the app and not the web UI I went back to watching what I had been and it wasn’t 5 minutes and for the first time ever since owning the Orbi’s my picture became fuzzy and low res. I was used to it because all my other ISP’s I had… DSL and Starlink by SpaceX were such low on bandwidth it happened ALL THE TIME! I was shocked when I saw it happen with my Orbi connected to a fiber ONT! I had assumed all my troubles were over. And they were at first. Then I did that stupid update manually!

        Here was his post!

Maybe this is something I need to do if some mine can step me through downgrading firmware. Also, how dangerous is it to do this??
