Just solved the problem:
In the admin page of the router, Basic > Internet > Routeur MAC Address. "Use Computer MAC Address" was selected.
I switched to "Use Default Address" and the computer directly reconnected to the network.
Then I switched back to "Use Computer MAC Address" and it keeps working.
Interesting bug with the router... to put it politely!

Yes and I shared the link to this thread on Reddit when I created it.
Latest test with ethernet cable directly to the base demonstrates that pc works well so still having a pending Orbi issue to solve 🙂

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Does this happen with other devices connected to the RBS via ethernet as well?
How many RBS are deployed?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF?
Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices?
What channel configurations are currently set on the router?
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-WIFI-6-AX-AND-Wi-Fi-6E-AXE/Procedure-for-Factory-reset-of-RBS850/m-p/2356834/highlight/true#M52575

Default MAC Address would be recommended. Unless your ISP has some specific needs for using a PC MAC Address.
Probably on next reboot would see the change so may not be a bug.
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Enjoy. 📡- mdn1234May 17, 2024Aspirant
Yes I have eventually left it in the Default MAC address mode as it was bugging again. I don't know why this option was set up like that, maybe following the firmware update.
Anyway, it works fine now, thank you!
