Logitech Squeezebox not connecting to RBK852

Checking some online research, seems that this particular device is from around 14 years ago. So standards then and how they were implemented by the Mfr would have to be changed by the Mfr, not by NG.
Also noticed that one PDF I found for this mentions WEP encryption. "Squeezebox Touch follows the 802.11 standard and uses hexadecimal keys for WEP encryption. WEP keys are 10 characters or 26 characters (for 64-bit and 128-bit encryption, respectively)."
WEP was something that was good up to one point in time, years ago, however became compromised and superseded by WPA and WPA2, thus across the board, some model routers and device mfr's stopped including this form of security in devices and firmware in later years. I believe the 50 series still had it back then since Orbi first appear around 2016. Current Orbi AX systems have never supported WEP. So maybe one reason why the AX mode suggestion didn't work on Orbi AX system as your device maybe only supported WEP encryption and not WPA2. Something to check with, however I see the Mfr has discontinued this model anyways. I doubt they will be doing anything regarding this.
Only think you might try is find you a older generation router or WIFI AP from that era or with in 5 years of that era, has WEP support, and it up as a separate WIFI system behind the Orbi AX system. Or find you a newer alternative to a device that's kind of out of date for newer WIFI systems.

Yes, I tried that too with unfortunately the same outcome.
There are a couple of settings on the RBK50 which are non-existent (or at least not visible on the web interface) on the RBK852 such as daisy chain and fast roaming.
Not sure if the problem lies possibly there?
PS. You are right, Squeezeboxes are old. I just happen to love the LMS platform and these devices have been and still are daily companions. There are possible workarounds to further explore such as ethernet power adapters and ethernet to wifi bridges.

Or simply use the old rbk in access point mode. You'd only need the router. Set it on a different channel/ssid to prevent interference and just connect the squeezebox to that.
Quite a bit more power than it needs as any old 2.4ghz router would work

My dream solution would be that Netgear makes the RBK852 truly compatible with older wifi standards and that disabling the AX features for the 2.4 ghz network in actual fact disables these features. The other user had it working using older firmware so I am still hopeful that a next firmware would solve this. I will move on to the RBK852 in parallel with buying some powerline adapters like eg. Devolo to connect the squeezeboxes using the ethernet.
