Need Help separating AX 2.4ghz and 5ghz ssid
To those who are frustrated that they are unable to separate the the ssid’s of the AX 2.4g and 5g signals...I feel your pain. As you know, the older AC models were easily modified via telnet to edit some of the settings in the software. The AX models do not enable the user to telnet into the operating system. I’ve found a way around this and can telnet into the router, whoever this is where I am stuck. I’m writing asking the community for some help if you are into tinkering with linux.
First off the AX models do not have telnet exposed to the user in the admin UI. To enable telnet, download this software from github to enable telnet on your AX router.

Follow the instructions and telnet into your router using your credentials.
Here’s where I’m stuck. The commands and variables are different from the AX models. Instead of “config” you must use “nvram”. The wl_ssid variables also are different and do not function the same. I was able to isolate where the ssid and others configuration settings were for 2.4 and 5ghz, but they both don’t really have any effect when changed.
Help would be greatly appreciated by anyone frustrated by devices that automatically choose between 2.4 and 5ghz over the same ssid.

NG doesn't support separation of SSIDs on Orbi systems.
Most of the Orbi systems work well with single SSID configurations.
