Need to label my Satellites (RBR850) but cannot see an obvious way to do that -Advice Very Welcome
Evening all. Have a 4 sat system. Works nicely in the main but I cannot identify each Sat. I made the mistake of leaving them as standard naming. Is there an easy way to identify each one such th...

That should work. It will not happen instantly. It may take 10 minutes (or more) for the status display to change.

Type the name you want into the box where it says Satellite-2.

😀..... even as a rank amateur I'd worked that much out CrimpOn (joke) but no sorry I think maybe I explained poorly in the original post.
What I meant was, of the 4 Orbi Sats, how can I tell (for example) where the unit called Sat-2 actually is .... i.e which physical room location? I know how to amend the device heading but not how to know where Sat-2 is.
I'm thinking a little like a Philips Hue bulb were you can press a button in the app and the light flashes up, physically showing the whereabouts of the device. I need try do the same with each sat.
I did try switching each sat off and thinking it might go red in the network map but strangely it did not.

Thanks CrimpOn. I will try that again.

Hi there.
I revisited this approach and indeed it did work. As you rightly say, it took a good while to show in the app. But it did work and will be repeating this on the other Orbi Sats's.
It seems a bit of a primitive approach that could be replicated in SW quite simply from an app with a simple routine. Maybe a good improvement for future.
But many thanks for explaining and indeed it has worked and provides a good basis for trying to solve other issues.

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

You can change the name of the RBS on the RBRs web page as well. I use this to have info on where about my RBS are located.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm trying to identify where each sat is ... physical location, so that I can label up in the way you mention.
I can see how to change the label but first I have to have a method to identify the Orbi Sat.
In other similar product systems where you have a number of devices, all appearing very similar, you have tap a key or such like and the on-board LED will flash maybe 3 times in a distinct colour.
Once I can identify the specific sat, then I can label each and be better organised for future.
