Need trouble shooting help for Orbi RBR850 and NVG589
I've been posting on DSL Reports about this issue (see URL: https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r33472738-Troubleshooting-Help) and it was suggested I cross post here as well. We have not been able to...

Would it be convenient to state the specific problem again? Reading through the referenced discussion, it is not clear (to me) what the problem is (or how it might be related to the customer router instead of the ISP modem).
Would help to understand what "MAC Filtering" means. Is that a list of hardware MAC addresses that are not allowed to connect?
Just a random comment: There are two different types of Factory Reset in regard to Netgear Orbi routers:
- The obvious situation is where all user settings are erased and the user then enters them all again manually. In my case, this takes a little over two hours and is a major chore. (perhaps involving pain in a body part). This is the last resort after every other possibility has failed.
- A less onerous procedure is to:
- Save a copy of the configuration.
- Do the factory reset, but...
- Go through all the setup pages, ignoring everything, until you reach the page that offers two choices:
- Load a saved configuration, or
- Create a configuration manually
- That means:
- Do not change the WiFi SSID. This keeps all those devices which are waiting for WiFi to reappear from connecting to the router and perhaps getting an IP address that you do not want them to have.
- Do not accept the offer to register the router.
- Do not enable Armor, Parental Controls...etc. etc.
- Select to load a saved configuration and reload that configuration that was saved (above).
- The entire process can take less than 10 minutes.
