Netgear Orbi AX4200 shows different IP address for security cameras than google home

Hi -- my Orbi app and the diret orbi login show my 2 google nest security cameras on 192.168.1.8 and 192.168.1.9.

The google home app "device information" tab shows the 2 google nest security cameras at 192.168.1.59 and 192.168.1.60.

any idea why the discrepancy?

Everything works. I just find it odd that different IPs are listed by different sources.

I noticed this yesterday with my phone... It's probably still the same with my phone.

If it means anything, I have a pi-hole running at 192.168.1.39. The only setting I changed from factory on the orbi is that it points to the pi hole as DNS. Orbi still does DHCP.

I moved around some orbi satellites yesterday and back hauled one of them with ethernet. It was all via wifi backhaul before.

and I updated the firmware to the latest version yesterday....

RBR750/2 RBS750

thanks

  • Could be it had a different IP address and it switched from the 2.4ghz to the 5ghz (or vice versa) and caused it to display wrong in one of them. Or the google (or netgear) has an old ip address.

Got it. After I move some of the satellites around and I back hauled one of the satellites, I noticed that a few of my devices did change IP addresses. I'm wondering since I think it's on the orbi side, how I can make it reflect the correct IP addresses? I hit refresh in the orbee web page and it just reshows the devices with the incorrect IPs. I guess I could also just set static IPs for all of them through the router but that's sort of a pain in the butt.

I'm beginning to think it's Google home that has old IP addresses. I rebooted the orbi and it assigned the 2 Google cameras 2 new IPs (4 and 5) yet home still lists the old ones. And since they're both connected to the internet I'm sure the orbi has the right info.

      Thanks for your help.

wouldn't be surprised if something in there wasn't updating. Not the first time devices haven't talked between app/device.
