Can you try using some custom IPv6 DNS? Like Cloudfare or Quad9? Next time you have v.15 loaded and a factory reset can be performed with v.15 loaded.
Would need model# of ONT as well.

Nokia ONT G-010G-A. The model shouldn't make a difference.
I've done all the troubleshooting steps I can or care to do. Mother in law on a pacemaker, can't keep taking my network down.
This thread describes the issue so I will let Netgear figure it out. Their buggy firmware releases are getting tiresome.

I recommend you submit a support ticket on this. Your the first to post about it and NG may not be aware. Others may not be seeing same thing either. Something you'll need to let them know about.
Good Luck.
- KMDonlonMar 04, 2025VirtuosoI am curious as to anyone else experiencing this, also it was and has been a somewhat consistent issue according to the entire thread I attached in the earlier post. Doesn't seem like a "new & all of a sudden bug" exclusive to just me. We will see

That thread is 3 years old as well. Been changes since then. Wondering if this protection engine could be at play as well. It's new to Orbi. ๐
- KMDonlonMar 05, 2025VirtuosoCan't find any documentation on the protection engine. I still think it is odd that I am the only one experiencing the ipv6 drop with this firmware version... I am puzzled for sure on this.

Was first intro'd on the Nighthawk series of routers, RAX. Then put to the RS series:
We first saw signs of it on Orbi in some betas I was in. For the NH routers, users can disable it as a troubleshooting step if needed. And it's been needed there. My RS router has it and current version for it is working with it enabled. A prior version I had to disable it as it cause odd web page access problems.
For Orbi there no user option to disable it and seems to be all automatic which I'd like to see NG change for troubleshooting issues like this and others. Ya, it should work but it's another variable in the mix that if it's not done right, may impact what users see and experience. Can't be sure if this could a a culprit to this but since this is a new feature added to the Orbi systems and prior versions didn't have it and IPv6 worked on prior versions of FW, would need to be investigated by NG.
Something to get if you get the time and want to load up v.15 and capture the failure. Start debug logs and see if you can get the failure to happen on the RBR. enable WAN/LAN capture as well. We can get this to NG for review.
- KMDonlonMar 06, 2025VirtuosoOkay, I re loaded up V7.2.7.15_5.1.16, and after 4 to 5 hours no IPv6 again. Tried using cloud flares DNS and again, IPv6 dropped overnight...using different DNS for IPv6 made no difference. I did a capture this morning and saved a . Zip file.

What devices are having trouble? Are these devices Apple by chance?
WiFi or Ethernet? Can you try a single device test into the router?
Do you have an old device to try as well (Ethernet and WiFi)?
PM me the share link to the logs and will get them over to NG.
Thank you.

Read all the "old" threads about this and seems there may be issues with traffic meters and DST settings... not sure. New problem to me with V7.2.7.15_5.1.16 and goes away when I downgrade firmware. - KMDonlonMar 06, 2025VirtuosoIn the meantime, I unticked the DST setting, added my own NTP server. I also ticked traffic meters on, updated settings... Then unticked traffic meter, updated settings again. A short while later, my IPv6 connected. Saw these steps in an old Reddit thread.. I will see what happens in 4 to 5 hours.

You'll need to enable debug logging on the RBR and RBS using the RBR and RBS IP address/debug.htm in a web browser. Let this run for 5 minutes then select the save logs. This will output to a .zip file. Put these up on a cloud storage service like dropbox or onedrive. These are free. PM me the share link.

Ok. Got this passed to NG. Go back and use prior version for now.
- KMDonlonMar 06, 2025VirtuosoWell, I let the system run after a reboot which restored my IPv6 and just like clockwork, just shy of 5 hours, IPv6 dropped connectivity. Now I am reverting back to V7.2.6.31_5.0.24 until Netgear has this sorted out. Bummer

I have AX6000 WiFi Mesh System (RBK852) with an additional RBS850 satellite added. Effectively making it into a Orbi AX6000 WiFi Mesh System (RBK853)
I wonder if the IPV6 was my issue with stuff disconnecting. I'm using T-Mobile Home internet and must use IPV6 pass-thru for everything to work correctly. Day after upgrading to 7.2.7.15, my wife sent me a message while I was at work that a whole bunch of stuff was off line. Both satellites were showing as disconnected on the app.
Could not get add on satellite to show up in the app despite solid blue light. Tried hard reset several times. Only the original satellite was showing and connected and handling devices.
I ended up reverting to 7.2.6.31 and everything just went back to how it was and works. I turned off auto update until this is resolved. - KMDonlonMar 15, 2025VirtuosoOdd, there seem to be a few quirks with this version. I gave my debug logs to FURRYe38 to pass along to support. Haven't heard back. Stay tuned....

Hi All,
I did the firmware update on my system today, I power cycled, factory reset and setup from scratch, I will let you guys know how it goes.

17 Days uptime with my 850 series on this version of FW.
I don't have native IPv6 to help test that. Other than a couple of users seeing issues with IPv6, with out IPv6, I think this version is good.
- KMDonlonMar 16, 2025VirtuosoRan great for me too, only downside was the Ipv6 drops after roughly 5 hours. I switched back & forth between the 2 versions of firmware. V7.2.6.31 never drops IPv6 and V7.2.7.15 drops IPv6 connectivity every 5 hours or so in my case. We will see what comes of this.
- NYHuskerMar 18, 2025Tutor
And unfortunately for me, with T-Mobile Home Internet which is IPv6, I have to use IPv6 passthru. So the issue with this firmware and IPv6 dropping made me swtich back to 7.2.6.31.
Maybe they fix it in the next version! - KMDonlonMar 18, 2025VirtuosoHopefully Netgear responds to this soon, patiently waiting.....
- Supertramp2Mar 25, 2025StarWith the release of FW V7.2.7.15 on my RBK852, I have encountered very slow access to software related updates (Lyrion Music Server, Unraid plugins) on raw.githubusercontent.com. Unfortunately nothing is shown in the RBR850 logs.
I went back to FW V7.2.6.21 and access is snappy again. Then went to FW V7.2.6.31 and access is still fast.
Yes, I have done the necessary factory resets, power off/on, etc. For the moment I am going to stick with FW V7.2.6.31.
Not sure of this has something to do with this new security engine? - liamscorMar 25, 2025LuminaryDo you have netgear armor enabled?
- Eriksen76Mar 25, 2025Apprentice
Is this firmware for Orbi 970 as well? Can't seem to find a thread regarding FW to that one.
