WOW, this morning about 2am i decided to update my two ORBI RBS satillites first. and that went ok, till a fantom ORBI showed up in my Orbi App. i then proceeded to update the RBR750, that went well till it said it was online but it wasnt. i followed the directions according to Furrye38, (ty) and i unplugged the sats and then the router, waited 2-3 minutes then i plugged in the router and then the sats and waited........it took a few minutes and the router came online then the sats followed. it still took some time for all my devices to get back on line (about 60), which is normal thing that has been happening. then today was the test. we had some heavy thunderstorms roll in, these south florida storms alway knock out some power or damages some weak transformers to were the power goes on and off real quick. it happened 3 times in a half hour i also have the comcast modem and the RBR750 plugged into a surge and battery back up. the weakest like here is the sats, no battery-back up for them and they used to take forever to re-sync but after the upgraded firmware last night, WOW, the ORBI's came right back online which shocked me, i thought i would need to reboot the sats. but no input from me and the whole system came back online quick. i am no IT guy here but this is a major inprovement from the previous firmware that almost killed the ORBI system. thanks to all here on this forum, i have learned alot from here.

I'm running a RBR750 wifi6 with 2 satellites. System is 2 months old and updated to 4.6.5.14 on Wed. 10/13. It was working flawlessly until this last update. Since doing so, devices would lose connectivity intermittently - only for 10-15 seconds - but this would occur for extended periods of time. 1-2 hours, then stabilize, then occur again. Makes working from home using Zoom a bit problematic as the connection is continuosly dropped.
I hard reset the entire system and rebooted from the modem --> router --> satellites. Didnt correct the issue. I reset to factory configuration. This also didn't correct the problem. Luckily, I purchased Pro support - the first time doing so could be considered a good investment.
The technician had me change 3 router settings using the Web interface:
1. Basic --> Wireless --> Changed 2.4Ghz channel to 11 from auto
2. Basic --> Wireless --> Changed 5.2Ghz channel to 44 from 48
Hit apply, router updated.
3. Advanced --> Setup --> WAN --> Changed MTU to 1472
Hit apply, router updated.
I asked the technician on 2 separate occassions if doing so would have any performance impact and was told, "absolutely not". We shall see... but since making the changes, I haven't had any outages and the connection is stable. Speedtest indicates similar metrics to performance before the firmware update. I'll double check in the morning.
Hope it's helpful for others having the same problem.

Sounds like you may still be within your return window. I'd take it back and get something else. This isn't the first time you are going to have issues. You will wake up to new firmware when they push it and it will be when you really need your system to work - not on your day off or a convenient time. Netgear has lost their minds and have pushed firmware over the past year or so that didn't help but caused issues for many. This past firmware has been an utter disaster.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
I wouldn't see a need to change the MTU unless your on a specific DSL modem service which those usually need. Most Cable and Fiber use 1500 MTU...
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Will keep the wireless settings in mind...

- SergeLOct 25, 2021ApprenticeI think I solved the latest firmware issues. I found one of the suggestions and followed it, my system is currently running on the latest firmware without any issues or additional tweaks.
The steps are:
- Download the latest firmware for satellites and the router.
- Update individual satellites, one by one. Wait until it fully applies firmware, and each becomes visible in the UI.
- Power off all satellites
- Disconnect your modem or pull cable from the WAN port, then update the router.
- After the system is up, power it off ofr a couple of minutes and do the factory reset of the router with pin.
- Wait until the system is up, restart your modem, and reconnect WAN.
- Do system setup, skip adding satellites
- Power up one satellite, and do factory reset with pin.
- Add satellite through web UI
- Repeat for other satellites
After executing all those steps this morning, my system is rock solid. No reboots, no outages.
I guess the factory reset of the whole system while it was disconnected from the internet did the trick...- JlhardwickOct 25, 2021Star
Good Luck...
Been there and tried that.. Worked fine for about 12-24 hours and all the problems returned.
Please let us know how it is after a couple of days.

Thanks, Furry. For clarity, I am not a sysadmin - just a simple caveman who knows enough to get into serious trouble. Answers below...
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? I have Fiber to the curb - it's a Verizon Fios Optical Network Terminal, connected directly to the RBR, unobstructed.
I wouldn't see a need to change the MTU unless your on a specific DSL modem service which those usually need. Most Cable and Fiber use 1500 MTU... Definitely not running DSL. This was the tech's suggestion.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft? 6k.
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. About 200 sq feet.Connection thus far has been stable.
