WOW, this morning about 2am i decided to update my two ORBI RBS satillites first. and that went ok, till a fantom ORBI showed up in my Orbi App. i then proceeded to update the RBR750, that went well till it said it was online but it wasnt. i followed the directions according to Furrye38, (ty) and i unplugged the sats and then the router, waited 2-3 minutes then i plugged in the router and then the sats and waited........it took a few minutes and the router came online then the sats followed. it still took some time for all my devices to get back on line (about 60), which is normal thing that has been happening. then today was the test. we had some heavy thunderstorms roll in, these south florida storms alway knock out some power or damages some weak transformers to were the power goes on and off real quick. it happened 3 times in a half hour i also have the comcast modem and the RBR750 plugged into a surge and battery back up. the weakest like here is the sats, no battery-back up for them and they used to take forever to re-sync but after the upgraded firmware last night, WOW, the ORBI's came right back online which shocked me, i thought i would need to reboot the sats. but no input from me and the whole system came back online quick. i am no IT guy here but this is a major inprovement from the previous firmware that almost killed the ORBI system. thanks to all here on this forum, i have learned alot from here.

After the whole debacle that went on with:
Which took Netgear well over 1 year to respond to and fix. I now too am suffering from random router 'crashes'. In regards to the previous problem, one solution or workaround was to put the entire Netgear Orbi (AX4200) system in Access Point (AP) mode and use another router - from a different brand - in front of the Orbi as the actual router. Well, considering all the issues I faces with DNS timesouts/website crashes. I never stopped using this workaround.
However, now, every now and then with these new firmwares. I am observing:
- satellite loses connection to the router (Orbi) at random moments
- satellite appears to be losing connection whenever a 'certain' device rejoins the network (mobile phones/laptops).
In regards to the point #2, it happened on occassions that I get back home after being a couple of days away. And exactly at that moment in time the satellite has lost connection to the router. I guess this can also happen if the device rejoins the router (Orbi) instead of the satellite.

yes the same problems here, i have only my kids and women on this wifi because before i had shellys a lot of alexas and iot staff on it.but i implemented some cheap tp-link wifi ap s and it s working without any issue. to have disconnections with my mobile or laptop is mess enough but to have problems with the complete smarthome this is another story.
i saw netgear is looking to this chats, but why not a PM or someone from tech give us an advice eg please downgrade the system to v3 or something else, sorry this was figured out by the community. And by the way Neatgear force us to upgrade because we can t block it (yes you can block dns etc) but for "normal" user it s not that easy. So i m not sure if this have also a legal impact.
At the end i hope soon they will fix it otherwise i will get my money back, because as mentioned i also can t sell it on the open market without a bad feeling.

AX is turned off for both 2.4 and 5G and problem persists. Please alert NG to pay more attention to this issue. We are patiently waiting.. for months now
