WOW, this morning about 2am i decided to update my two ORBI RBS satillites first. and that went ok, till a fantom ORBI showed up in my Orbi App. i then proceeded to update the RBR750, that went well till it said it was online but it wasnt. i followed the directions according to Furrye38, (ty) and i unplugged the sats and then the router, waited 2-3 minutes then i plugged in the router and then the sats and waited........it took a few minutes and the router came online then the sats followed. it still took some time for all my devices to get back on line (about 60), which is normal thing that has been happening. then today was the test. we had some heavy thunderstorms roll in, these south florida storms alway knock out some power or damages some weak transformers to were the power goes on and off real quick. it happened 3 times in a half hour i also have the comcast modem and the RBR750 plugged into a surge and battery back up. the weakest like here is the sats, no battery-back up for them and they used to take forever to re-sync but after the upgraded firmware last night, WOW, the ORBI's came right back online which shocked me, i thought i would need to reboot the sats. but no input from me and the whole system came back online quick. i am no IT guy here but this is a major inprovement from the previous firmware that almost killed the ORBI system. thanks to all here on this forum, i have learned alot from here.

Finally had it with the Orbi753. Packed it up and returned it to Costco.
I actually had it working well but I can't abide by the unexpected, incomplete firmware updates, followed by two days of reboots and relogging on all of the IoT devices that won't rejoin the network automatically.
I know how to block the auto-updates with an upstream router but why should I? My upstream router is a Nighthawk which works fine. So, I kept the upstream router and ditched the Orbi.
Good luck to all of you who stay with Orbi. My next network product won't be Netgear.
What are you going to buy?

Haven't decided yet. Leaning towards a Linksys Velop 6 but haven't finished researching it. Will also consider Asus and TP-link. The Linksys 3 year Warrany AND Support gives me some confidence that they stand behind their products. I know that the Velop isn't the fastest of the mesh systems but absolute speed isn't a big concern. Stability is. I'm too old to climb trees and go into the attic every time the network hiccups.:smileyfrustrated: If anyone knows a mesh system that allows a VPN to be installed on the router so I don't need one on every device I'd probably buy one of those.
As I noted above, I actually liked the Orbi when it was working but they pushed 2 updates to me in 2 weeks and it was enough.
BTW, the thing that got to me most was that ever since the last 3.x rev, the satellites wouldn't daisy chain anymore which meant that the far satellite was getting half the performance with its 80' home run back to the router than chaining off the satellite that was in the middle of the house.
Costco will now send it back to NG who will no doubt send it out as a warranty replacement for someone.

After I returned my Orby back to Costco, Ive purchased Asus ZenWiFi. It's been several weeks, and I couldn't be happier!

Does it go far with multiple satellites? I assume Costco sells it.

I've got Asus ZenWiFi AX from Amazon, it's not available in Costco. It comes with two units, and can be expanded any way you want. I've purchsed additional sattelite for Asus, and now I'm running the same deployment configuration as Orbi RBK753. But I see way better speed on my WiFi compared to Orbi.
