Followed the directions and upgraded. Did the RBS750 units first and then the RBR750. Appears to be working well.
One important note, I did need to restart each RBS750 after the RBR750 was upgraded to re-establish connection. As each is on a UPS and mounted on the all, required a ladder.
Otherwise working fine at this time.
I didn't see the "IoT" network feature at first. You need to go into Wireless setup. You'll then see a "Wireless IoT Settings' and the ability to "enable" an IoT wireless SSID along with password.
Nice to have this feature added finally. I believe it's important to have a Trusted, IoT and Guest wireless SSID.

I have only tried to update the satellite, not the Router

what is the md5 checksum of the file you are uploading to the satellite?
- ellybellySep 13, 2023Aspirant
Abslutely no idea, but stupidly I have just realised that I skipped the update to 4.16.3.... π
So I was trying the wrong file....
Sorry for being so dumb.
Do I need to update both to 4.16.3 first then apply latest?
- ellybellySep 13, 2023Aspirant
But that maked no difference, it seems the satellite wont upgrade beyond V4.6.9.11
- kolellaSep 13, 2023Apprentice
Probably yes
for md5 checksum if you have a mac/linux you can use terminal > md5/md5sum filename or otherwise online https://emn178.github.io/online-tools/md5_checksum.html
- ellybellySep 13, 2023Aspirant
The Checksum for the 4.16.3 file is 080b3ef76ef00902a6a0814c50e7e741
The Checksum for the 7.2.16.1 files is bbc595eb9ede0526a41ed935201f3d1e

Both router and satellite are V4.6.9.11
- kolellaSep 13, 2023Apprentice
I don't think you can upgrade RBS without upgrading RBR and having both synced but i'm not sure. what is the current firmware on both devices?
- kolellaSep 13, 2023Apprentice
in between there is still 4.6.11.1
4.6.9.11 -> 4.6.11.1 -> 4.6.14.3 -> 7.2.6.21
- ellybellySep 13, 2023Aspirant
So this needs to be done next?

Hello everyone ,
I updated my RBR750 and my two RBS750 (one is connect on wifi and the other on RJ45 cat6).
Everything is allright .
I have just one problem.
When i do a speedtest on the RBS connected with RJ45 the max speed is 90mb.( RBR and RBS wifi was at 900mb)
Before it was always 900mb on this. (i do reset etc ...)
Do you know this problem ?

It wont accept the file for 4.6.11.1

I would unplug/plug the ethernet cable and check values in RBR statistics page

I have an RBK753 system, updated both satellites and router without any issues. First updated satellites by logging into each satelliteβs web interface, then updated the router. But it took a while for the satellites to show the updated firmware version in the web interface, the old version was displayed even after a reboot. But eventually it got refreshed.
I've seen some devices like my Google home hub and a smart things hub which are near one of the satellites loosing connection to the internet. My smartphone also switched to 5G a couple of times and showed βconnected no internetβ for WiFi. Iβve rebooted the router and satellites few times. Right now one of the satelliteβs backhaul status shows βout of syncβ but I can still log into it via IP. BTW both satellites are wired. Not a good start for the upgrade, but then again most Netgear Orbi updates were like that.
Its quite late over here, will continue testing tomorrow.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modems power adapter from wall outlet.
Turn off router, RBS and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on RBS then computers and rest of network.

You can go directly to v7 from what you have loaded now. Should be able too.
RBS first then RBR lastly.Use MS Edge or Firefox browser to load the unpacked FW file.
Use the RBS web page to send the FW file to it.
All is explained inth initial post on how to load FW.
Power cycle the system after loading the FW files.

- Foutiti67Sep 13, 2023AspirantThx for respond .
Sorry I expressed myself badly .
The Rbr750 and the rbs ( connected by wifi are good . 900mb )
Just the rbs connected by rj45 is at 90mb ( up and down ) - FURRYe38Sep 13, 2023Guru - Experienced User

What CAT# lan cable are you using? CAT6 is recommended.
- TheobuckSep 13, 2023ApprenticeWhen you say, β Turn off and unplug the modem,β what do you mean by unplug? The power or WAN/fiber?
I have an ONT or Fiber Household Terminal (as Cox calls it and there is no way I am touching the fiber it is hair-thin and made of glass. - ellybellySep 14, 2023Aspirant
Ok, I will do my best. I have tried all the stuff you have said in case of turning everything on. I have done a full factory reset in router (twice) and satellite and no change. I have unplugged everything and connected satellite to computer with cable and still it rejects the file. Netgear have suggested a TTFP update, which I have yet to try becuase I have other things to do, but will attempt.
It shouldnt be this hard should it?
- SeaRefractorSep 14, 2023Apprentice
When you are instructed to "unplug", that would be the "power cord".

Hello i know what is the problem, in the statistic, the connection between rbr and rbs is only at 100M .
Beforce the update with the same configuration (cat7 rj45) is was at 1000m .
What appen ? ( i do reset of all device and it is the same ..)
thx all
- FURRYe38Sep 17, 2023Guru - Experienced User
I would bring the RBS to same room and the RBR and connect the RBS to the RBR while in same room wirelessly first. Test and check stats. Then ethernet connect the RBS to back of RBR using good quality CAT6 cable. Check the stats on the RBR. Should see 1000Mbps here.
As stated in the intial post, a power cycle of the system is recommended after the FW update.
If problems are seen, a factory reset and setup from scratch maybe needed.
