I'm officially done with Orbi. Even with 4.6.7.5, the system becomes unstable after several days of use. Even ethernet connectivity became unreliable, as the ports would start only connecting at 100Mbps. I'm tired of having to consantly perform full resets to get things working again. I'm back to an Asus AiMesh system and it's working so much better.
The Orbi is heading to the electronic waste drop-off, as I refuse to sell a broken product to someone else. Hopefully the components and metal they get off the boards will be more useful than the system was as a router.

Just curious, have you tried using a new cable?

The cable is fine. The problem is only when connected to the Orbi when it starts to act up. It's 100% reproducable.

A lot of times when I have problems with ethernet (and USB-C for that matter) I find that unplugging everything and blowing out sockets and plugs with high pressure compressed air does wonders.
Much easier than replacing cables and hardware, and at least for me this works most of the time.
Occasionally an ethernet cable can go bad or if unshielded something can affect it - I used unshielded ethernet ribbon cables for a while - but ususally some dust or something migrated in and helped to produce an intermittant.

Yeah - typically the reason for degraded Ethernet link speed is often a result of link speed negotiation between the two nodes, bad switch, or the cable, which is acting up. If this were a result of bad FW, it would have been seen or reported by more people. In this case, If a reboot would restore the link speed and subsequently drop back down to 100Mbps, it could also be the client, bad port, or the cable. I had also encountered similar problem in the past, hence my curiosity. Since you've already confirmed it's not the cable, then it's something else other than bad FW. Otherwise, everyone would also be affected by the same problem.
ASUS is a good vendor and you can't go wrong with their router either. Good luck!
