My perspective on this is simple: The day I realized NG has completely removed my ability to control the firmware and updates on the hardware I OWN is the day I decided to at least temporarily replace it. Admittedly, I only realized this recently due to the serious stability issues I am experiencing. I can't have a home network that I cannot rely on. Like many of you, I WFH more than I used to and I am fed up constantly having to at least once a day power off/on the router and satellites in order to be able to work.
Hopefully, NG both fixes the current firmware are restores our ability to run/manage our hardware the way we want.
A real shame since I have run Orbi networking for a long time and have recommended it to most of my friends and clients for their home WiFi.

All they'd need to do to make me (and many others) happy would be to release a new version of the 3.2.16.6 fimware, where auto update is disabled.

Actually, a new update with auto-update disabled is not exactly what you want. Because if you decide to downgrade, you will be at a version that does update automatically again :smileylol:
What would work is a new version that is basically a working old version - with the autoupdate disabled. If they want give people the choice, but with disable auto-update, then first a version with auto-update disabled and then adding those versions that are known to be working for this group or that group.
