Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

The new ISP gateway is a Cox technicolor CGM4981, in bridge mode. I have replaced the old Orbi RBR50’s with a new RBR850, router and one satellite. I figured there was no point adding the RBR50’s to new technology. We have a few 6g devices now, so I figured it would be worth the upgrade. Now, not so much.

The old RBS50 satellites are not compatible with the new Orbi 850 system, so they would not connect.
The Orbi 850 is a WiFi6 product (802.11ax) which is a definite upgrade from the WiFi5 system. However, it is not WiFi6E which includes the 6G WiFi frequencies.

Noted and thank you for responding. It’s a bit overwhelming going through the forum - so much info. From what I’ve read, it seems the problem might stem from the FW updating on the RBR and not the RBS. I will start with a reset to factory settings via the web page, as per detailed instructions posted by another user, and do a fresh install through the web page as opposed to the app. Crossing my fingers!

Be sure that if the system needs updating in FW, that the RBS are updated first, then the RBR lastly.

I actually read your other posts on the forum after I did the install (using the app - my first mistake) and realized that the FW had been updated on the RBR before the RBS. I have your very detailed instructions for factory reset, which I will do when the home office isn’t in use and hopefully that will do the trick. Thank you for responding to my post.
