Orbi 960 and Wifi Calling issues
All, I have the Orbi 960 system. Router and two satellites. This solution is in AP mode. Router connects to my .97 network which is VLAN 20 in my house as it's WAN gateway to my pfSENSE router/Fir...

Worked on this version of FW or did something happened after FW was updated to v.31?

What are you referring to? My pfSense? Nothing changed on my pfSense. This i doubt is a FW issue. I'm manually updating orbi firmware now and re-assess afrer.

Trying to asses of this was working good while on v.31 or something started to appear after you had the system updated to v.31...or something else may have appear suddenly.
Hoping newer FW will resolve though. I recommend and power OFF of the Orbi system for 1 minute then back ON, then check for WiFi calling issues.
Also what channels are you using on the RBR?
Is there any wifi neighbors near by? If so, how many?

just a personal observation.....
Netgear's firmware update practices are not entirely obvious. The Orbi Firmware Update menu selection often claims "no new firmware" when there actually IS newer firmware. This is the reason people often ask for the specific version when users post "have the latest".
If the WiFi calling problem occurs with the latest firmware installed, perhaps it would be worth performing some experiments. One might be to deliberately put the iPhone in Airplane Mode, which disables the cellular network entirely, and then make some calls.

I did have some QOS on the managed switches. I turned that to low priority - lowest level. On pfSense (my gateway and FW that does the inter-vlan routing as well, has a setting in System/Advanced/Firewall&NAT/ Firewall Optimization Optoins. Other threads said to set this from normal to Conservative. Also under State Timeouts in same location to change UDP Multiple from 60 to 900. Made those changes. Also pfsense was upgraded from 2.72. to 2.80 CE (community Edition - which I run).
Same issues this morning.
is there any case where the Obi's could be too close? - FURRYe38May 29, 2025Guru - Experienced User
What are the brand and model# of these manages switches?
Do you have any of the RBS connected to these switches? Or are they wireless connected?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

I'd try the Orbi system connected to the Verizon FIOS ONT with out any PFsense or managed switches in the mix to see if the issue continues
