Orbi 960 Wired Backhaul Question

Hello, I just installed my new 960 system which replaced a late model Ruckus system.  The 960 sits behind my firewall router and is not serving as network router, although I haven't changed it to AP mode yet (not sure of the benefits of doing so).  My question is this: 

Does the wired backhaul network need to be a dedicated VLAN, or can it coexist on my existing home network?
