ORBI 960 wont communicate to other devices across its own bands

Question

So I have an ORBI 960 router I do not have the supporting satellites. I have the most peculiar issue with my system. I can connect all my devices to my router but one thing I learned very quickly is that my devices cannot see each other if they're on different bands on the same router. The only way I can get around this if I need devices to see each other is placing another router in the mix.and setting it up as an access point and putting the devices that need to see across multiple bands on that access point. Is there a setting I'm missing here ? I want to get other satellites for this set up but I do not want to invest anymore money into this ORBI set up unless I can find a solution. Any idea from the community?

I should've elaborated more. If I have a printer connected to the IOT band for instance I cannot print to it unless I am on that IOT band. Meaning if my computer or phone is connected to the wifi 6 band on the same router then forget about it. I would have to come off the wifi6 band and hop on to the on the IOT band on the same router just to get to the printer. Another example is my phillips hue system. My hue sync box for my TV needs to communicate with the hub. The hub is hard wired and the sync box is connected to the 2.4 band on the that same router. They cannot communicate unless I connect my sync box to the slaved access point connected to the orbi. Just to give you an idea of how they're connected it.goes MODEM- ORBI ROUTER- ACCESS POINT. unless the items are.connected on the same band or hard wired together on the orbi they will not talk to each other. The only way it'll see its sister devices or print jobs is if it's on the same band. With how powerful the ORBI router is I shouldn't need the access point to log into.

Hello everyone my issue in short is I have one ORBI router (960 Series NO satellites) that all my devices connect to in my home. The problem I'm having is when my devices are connected to the router on different bands they are unable to reach other. For example my Phillips HUE bridge is hard wired to my router and my Phillips HUE Sync box is connected Wirelessly 2.4GHz through the IoT Band and they cannot see each other and the same with my printer. It's connected through the IoT band. If other devices want to print that's not on the same band as the printer it will not print unless I come off the Wifi6 band and move to the IoT. The only way around this I found was by putting another router as an access point connected to the ORBI and it'll see it. As powerful as these routers are I shouldn't have to do this. Which makes me believe I'm missing a setting of some sort to help these devices communicate. My devices are connected like this (MODEM--- ORBI ROUTER--- ACCESS POINT). What do you guys think?

Does the printer access work if you put the printer on the main WIFI SSID network?
Do you have the separate 6Ghz SSID network enabled or disabled?&nbsp;
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
