Orbi WiFi already broadcasts both 2.4G and 5G WiFi. The warning, often in BIG BOLD type, "MUST have 2.4G WiFi", is simply stating that the device has only a 2.4G WiFi radio chip. It cannot detect or connect to any other frequencies. This is similar to products that state, "Requires two AA batteries." If you have only C and D cells, they will not fit.
While there are a few Internet of Things (IoT) products that have poorly written smartphone apps, the vast majority connect automatically to the Orbi.
1) Have you tried using the smartphone app to set up a light bulb?
2) What brand of light bulb is this?
