The church building is circa 1950...Brick and block walls. We are trying to cover an area upstairs (office, front of the sanctuary, and classrooms) with a wireless mesh network. This area is about 7000 square feet...see yellow outlined area in photo below. Satellite S3 was not in the original plan, but would be in the social hall under the classrooms if we decide to put it in.

Brick and stone will be problematic for any kind of wifi system.
if there is brick or stone walls separating each RBS, this will cut the signal down and distances can't be 40feet. Only item that would help alleviate this is having the RBS ethernet connected to the RBR. Not sure if the Orbi system would work well being all wirelessly connected in this kind of building. Not sure if the S1 would work as center of star formation. I believe RBS have to connect to the RBR in star formation if wirelessly connected or out in a line for daisy chain.

There are two brick/block walls (one on either side of the sanctuary) between the router RBR and RBS1. That's why I chose to hard wire the backhaul between these two. S1 and S2 will be in sight distance of each other and should be ok to connect wirelessly.

Am I making a mistake trying to install a home WiFi mesh system in a church building? Do I need something commercial grade? I sounds like nothing will work too well in this type of building. The church doesn't have the money for anything more elaborate. Thanks everyone for your help. I'll have to decide whether to try it out or abandon the idea.

Generally if this is a business, a business class system would be recommended and preferred. Home class systems are generally meant for home environments.
Orbi Pro is the business class line of systems that you could look into.
