Try powering off the satellites and test the speed directly from the router.
I turned off the satellites and the results nearby the primary were just as poor.
BTW the modem is technicolor TG588v v2.
I connected to the WiFi on the modem and the results were no better and erratic, which is why I went with mesh.
Interestingly, I downloaded the Ookla SPEEDTEST Mac OS app on both devices and speeds were showing back up to 55MB but this was not reflected in page load speeds. The SPEEDTEST web page measure was just as poor. I don't know what this signifies...
technicolor is a modem/router combo device.
has it been placed in modem only mode or the netgears IP address put into its dmz.
- No. The modem / router still has its WiFi on - I am unable to access the admin area to turn this off. I therefore would not be able to add the Netgear IP address either. Is this a problem?
