Orbi Portforwarding Not Working - Orbi RBR850

I have UPnP disabled per a different thread on the subject. I was able to port forward before on my Nighthawk router, but I recently switched to the Orbi and now I can't port forward. I have made sure its portforwarding the right port and from the right PC.

  • What are you using to test the port?

This is an easy way to check:

OP, let's first use https://canyouseeme.org/ to see if your port is open or closed.  Sounds like closed.

You only have a modem, but the next step verifies that your Orbi is exposed to the internet.  Confirm that the "Your IP" from  https://canyouseeme.org/ is the same as your http://orbilogin.com/ - Advanced Tab - Internet Port - IP Address.  If not you have Double NAT and two routers, so put your ISP router into bridge mode, change your Orbi from Router mode to AP mode, or port forward the same port(s) from your ISP router to the Orbi's IP.

Next, if this is a Windows host then you need to disable the firewall so Windows leaves the port open.  Do:

    1. Win key, type and search for "network status"
    2. Your active network needs to show "Private network" below it so the firewall is disabled.  If "Public network", press the Properties button and then change the Network Profile toggle from Public to Private.

  • Can you explain a little more? I use port forwardng for VOIP and cameras and it works fine. Is your Orbi the only router or is it connected to a modem/router?

It is the only router, and I'm using it specifically to portforward a Minecraft server off the port 25565.

      Firmware: V3.2.16.6

      Modem: Arris Surfboard SB8200

In terms of PF rules, I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I attached the image of the port forward custom service. I assume thats what you meant.

I looked at your screen capture and it looks fine for what I can see. It's pretty elementary to set up the port forwarding.

And since you are connected to an Arris SB8200 it should be working, unless you did not pick from the valid device list.
