ORBI RBK753: Very high latency to the main router 192.168.1.1 from my PC over wireless @1 feet

Got new RBK753 yesterday, configured it will in my hall (single room)

With my laptop placed near the router, I got this weird response time ranging from 50 to 160 ms

Have no 5GHZ device nearby as per network analyser tool. No walls, no metal sheets.

This is not a continuous behaviour, currently I am getting 1ms to 15ms response time,

I was expecting just 1ms or less than 1ms for this premium brand

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What all devices do you have connected to the RBR?

The latancy issue can be caused by a couple of things. cabling, interference, WIFI channel congestion, etc. I would check these items to eliminate the causes. Also what are your wireless settings under Advanced>Setup and Advanced>Advanced?

There is no other source of interference at 5GHZ

No cordless or wifi (as per wifi analyzer),

Still the ping latency fluctuates beyond 1ms.

Even our offices used Netgear mesh, but never the ping to the router exceeded 1ms
