Did you happen to configure the same SSID name and password used on the prior system on the Orbi system?
You can do this.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR📡 and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

You may need a PC or laptop and web browser to sign on to the RBRs WEB UI page and enabled the separate IoT SSID Network seen under the Basic Tab/Wireless settings page.
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended

Hi and thanks for your reply i will try to answer the best i can,
the home is around 2500 sqft, i also have positioned one of the satellites outside on a well covered porch,
line of sight the 1st satellite is around 20ft away and the second which is up stairs a similar distance,
i have logged into the UI page but couldn’t see or have the knowledge to separate the 2.4 signal i can see it but couldn’t see a option to separate it,
i updated all the firmware on fitting the system earlier today,
The router is a TP link FC -65 around 18 months old,
Also i used the cat 6 cable provided,
i have the option to hard wire the satellites as pre installed cable was fitted but on watching reviews there seemed to be no gain from this,
its all a bit odd as my first 2 devices connected instantly (Sonoff WiFi switches)
but all my other devices are having issues ??,
thks again for your help

So 20ft is too close between the RBR and RBS and in between them. 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR📡 and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite ‌‌🛰️You might turn OFF the RBS for now and just work with the RBR. Once you get things going, then turn on a RBS.
On the RBRs web page under the basic tab/wireless settings page, there should be a section towards the middle or bottom of this page that is labeled IoT network. This is were you can configure 2.4Ghz only SSID name-IoT something and give a password.

I have just measured and more like 25ft and the signal has to penetrate 2 feet thick stone walls and a concrete floor for the upstairs RBS, i will read up on your other recommendations,
Thanks

Ok that makes sense. Concrete and stone will inhibit wifi signal travel.
