Orbi RBR350: Spotify only playing for 15 minutes off Google Home

I've had a lot of weird networking issues, but this one has been tough to solve.

I've got a Orbi RBR350 set with 1 router + 2 satellites working. No issues whatsoever except that all of my 4 Google Home devices (mix of Home Mini, Nest Mini and normal Google Home) have issues playing music from Spotify for a prolonged time. When I tell Google to play my Spotify playlist it starts immediately, plays for about 15 minutes and then goes silent. Then I have to ask multiple times in order to get it working again or pull the power. It just doesn't reply anymore and the "Chromecast" feature on my Phone shows that the play button is grayed out. I'm also unable to go to the next or previous song. Anyone encountered this before? Switching to a Asus Router (AX88U) solves the issue, but the Orbi gives me way better Wifi coverage.

I've completely reset my Orbi and it failed with no settings changes. I've tried my IPS's DNS, Cloudflare and Adguard without success. I've also tried other solution such as setting the RIP_v1 version, uncheked "IGMP Proxying" and NAT to open without any changes. If anyone has any tips I would be really happy to give it a try. Some Google devices are connected to the satellites and others are connected to the main router and all fail after about 15minutes. I got no idea why it would fail after such a long time. I also have some Alexa devices and they are able to play just fine without issues. So I know for sure that there is a bug that involves Netgear Orbi and Google Home/Nest smart speakers.

  • Does this happen if you turn OFF all RBS and just run with the RBR only?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
