Orbi RBR50/RBS50 AP mode satellite disconnection
I changed over to pfSense, converted my Orbi RBS840 into access point mode, then noticed that the satellite refused to connect to the router. After reading and trying tips from as many forums as I could, and trying Negear's manual for reconnecting, the dark clouds started to settle. One last try and I used my old powerline adapters to attach the satellite on the other end. It worked - I could see the satellite on the router's interface. The only thing is that speed is up and down. Sometimes its close to old speeds while other times its 2 digits.
Good news is that I have mesh coverage back though, and I guess boosted speeds.

Depending on speed and design support of the old power line adapters, may bottleneck the speed between the RBR and RBS. Might seek newer generation PLs with higher speed capabilities.
The RBS should connect wired or wireless to the RBR while in AP mode.
How is the RBR configured for AP mode? Using Dynamic IP addressing or Static on the RBR?
This would be recommended for AP mode:
