hey thxs… i wouldnt call it a fail but connection to more distant cams struggle to pull up consistently, esp if other devices are consuming bandwidth. i have a two story house. router is upstairs in an office. 2 sats are on the first floor. simplisafe outdoor cams want 6mb each for upload. i have 40+ of upload bandwidth… simplisafe solution is to put an extender in to help the connection at 2.4 ghz… i just want to get a low cost no bufoonery netgear solution that is compatible with my orbi mesh. so looking for advice which product others think will accomplish my need… open to ideas… thxs!

should also add… simplisafe indoor cams want 2mb for 1080 rez… no mention of their outdoor cams requirements until i talked with them… ugh… so i currently have 4 outdoor cams and 1 indoor cam set to 480 to ease the upload… i sure would like to get to 1080… i know my wifi and isp speeds are good… so hoping an extender will improve my situation.

what is the exterior of your home made from?
I've seen several times where people have brick exteriors and are trying to connect camera's through brick.- tortiseshellMay 07, 2022Aspiranthouse is wood

As cameras generally remain in one spot, they have no need for the Orbi mesh "roaming" feature.
Any WiFi extender of any brand will work to provision a stronger signal to a specific camera (or nearby cameras).
I have had good luck with the Netgear EX3700 ($36 on Amazon) and the TP-Link AC750 ($25 on Amazon). These units offer the ability to connect to the Orbi at 5G and create a separate 2.4G WiFi channel for the cameras.
The 2.4G WiFi network "name" (SSID) can be different from the Orbi so that cameras will connect to the extender rather than attempt to reach the Orbi units.
