Orbi RBR750 and RBS750 not syncing in AP mode
Hi, I recently decided to buy a pfsense firewall and set it up and switched my Orbi to AP mode. The router works fine, but the Satellite won't sync and keeps showing a solid magenta light. I tr...

So, I adjusted my set up a little bit. I disconnected my pfsense firewall altogether and factory reset my RBR750 again. I set up my RBR and RBS together in Router mode as normal, but I moved the RBR from being plugged directly into the switch to being plugged directly into the pfsense firewall. So now my setup looks like this: Modem > Firewall > RBR750 > Switch rather than Modem > Firewall > Switch > RBR750. I also ensured that RBR was connected to the firewall via the WAN port and now the RBR and RBS are talking.
So it seems that the RBR needs to remain in front of the switch rather than behind it. At least in my instance.
I appreciate your help on this and the troubleshooting you assisted me with!

Ok you got me curious about this. So I configured my RBR750 for AP Mode, installed a different router and got the other router and modem working. I disconnected the RBR from the modem after I rebooted the modem and left it disconnecte. Afer the other router and modem were ready. I took my wired PC and configured the RBR for AP mode using static IP address and appled the change. Once I saw the RBR reboot and front LED turn on WHITE, I plugged in the RBRs WAN port to the other routers LAN port. RBR came to ready and front LED turned OFF. I looked at the RBS750 which was wirelessly connected and it was blinking white. I checked the RBRs web page and saw it was Disconnected. I waited a few minutes more. I then saw the RBS appear on the RBRs web page however status was out of sync and IP address was default 1.250 for the RBS. I was able to access the RBS web page by looking at the other routers web page and found the RBS got a new IP address, 0.150. I checked the RBS and front LED was BLUE. I was able to access the RBS web page however the status page didn't load for some reason. I checked the RBS front LED and it had gone back to blinking WHITE. I when back and checked the RBRS web page and it reported disconnected. So I figured, lets power OFF the RBS for some seconds then back ON.
Let it come to ready and the RBS appeared on the other routers web page. Finally the RBR reported the RBS connected and using correct IP address:
I was able to access the RBS web page and this time the status loaded and reported correct information there. Check the front LED and it was BLUE.
Looking back at the RBRs web page, the status changed to GOOD.
Checking the RBS again just now the front LED is now OFF.
I'll let this run over the weekend.
I'm wondering if something from your firewall devices isn't giving the RBS a IP address. Does the RBS show up at all on your router device?
Be sure your RBR is connected to the firewall device using the RBRs WAN port.

Did you find a solution to this?
it seems you decided to keep router mode
I need to use AP mode and the satellites will not connect wirelessly.

How do you have your RBS connected to the RBR in AP mode?
Do you have a static IP address on the RBR in AP mode or using Dynamtic?
Is there a LAN switch in between the RBR and RBS? If so, brand and model# please.
