Orbi RBR750 IP address is odd to me
Hello cool Netgear community. I noticed something odd that I could use someone to tell me if this is normal or not ideal. My home network issues IP addresses on 192.168.0.x, with 192.168.0.1 bein...

most of my devices are getting 192.168.0.XXX
I suppose I should have all these devices on the same network, right? Orbi shouldn't be on a different subnet, assuming I want all my devices to play together. How do I go about forcing Orbi to drop the .1?
If the Orbi is placed in Access Point (AP) mode, then the ISP router will assign all IP addresses in the 192.168.0.x IP subnet and everything will be in the same network.
This accomplishes several goals:
- All devices are in the same IP subnet.
- There is no longer a "Double NAT", which can interfere with specific internet applications. (Thousands of users have a Double NAT and are blissfully unaware. Those who are affected learn very quickly that "something is wrong.")
- None of the Orbi router functions remain enabled. No Armor. No Parental Controls. No OpenVPN. etc. etc.

Thank you both! That's very helpful.
Ideally, I would make my Orbi's access points across the whole network because the Verizon router seems a pretty decent in controls. I do dislike paying rent on it but I'm so far happy with it.
I'm looking through the Orbi app on my phone, and it doesn't seem to have a way to configure it. I'll do so more digging into the manuals. There's got to be a way to do that, right?
I could put the router into gateway mode/passthrough as one of you suggested. But like I said router seems a little beefier with controls that I like..
Many thanks!

Use a wired PC and web browser to manage the Orbi system using it's web pages.

Alright, so I enabled the Orbi into AP mode. It was tricky just getting my Mac to connect to it with a wire. In fact, I don't think I ever got an interface to connect correctly and basically, I connected wirelessly directly to it. It kept refreshing to a Netgear landing page, when it didn't give me the admin.
That left me a little gun-shy to turn off my cable router's wireless and basically force all the connections through the Orbi. Like what if that didn't work somehow, and then I would have trouble connecting my mac into my cable router.. since I don't think I never managed to connect via wire.
Sigh. Long story short seems like everything is working now and these mesh devices are connected to the right 192.168.0 subnet work. Yay!
I'll miss some of the orbi features but this should hold out until I decide to kick this Verizon router to the curb.
Thank you all. Hopefully, my printer and I can find each other.
