Orbi RBR750 Satellite (Update)

Powering everything off and restarting has been a useful practice since the 1980's and the IBM PC's "big red switch".

If this sequence fails to restore the previous level of performance, you might want to consider reloading the previous firmware, version 4.6.11.1.  It is available here:

This is not a trivial process, but it does get easier every time:

• Use the web link to download the firmware for router and satellites to a home computer.
• Unpack ("unzip") the firmware two firmware files:
  RBR750-V4.6.11.1_2.3.6-signed.chk for the router, and
  RBS750-V4.6.11.1_2.3.6-signed.chk for satellites
  (and remember where you put the extracted files because you are going to have to find them again.)
• Write down the IP address of the router (usually 192.168.1.1) and each satellite.
• Open a web browser and log into the first satellite using the IP address.
  Credentials will be the Orbi web login credentials (which are different from the WiFi login and the community forum login)
• Select the bottom menu item, "Firmware Update".
• Browse to the location of the satellite firmware file and upload it.
• Repeat with any other satellites.
• Perform the same steps on the router, except that the Firmware Update option is buried deep in the web interface.
  Select the Advanced Tab, then
  Select Administration, then
  Select the option, Backup Configuration.
  on that page, save a copy of the configuration to the home computer.
  Select Firmware Update, then
  Select the Manual Tab.
  The router update option is in a section above the other options.
  When this is done, the router will reboot automatically.

Whew!  After this process.... are things "back the way they were?" or was this exercise in vain?
